‘HeART of Gaza: Children’s Art from the Genocide’ is a travelling exhibition born out of a WhatsApp exchange of drawings between Mohammed Timraz’s family in Gaza and Féile Butler’s family in Ireland. Having recently celebrated the initiative’s first anniversary, ‘HeART of Gaza’ has been seen by thousands of people in over 150 venues worldwide. On the ground in Gaza, the project has also expanded, with children’s art workshops taking place in 9 locations across the Strip, allowing hundreds of children to gather, explore and process their reality, and cling on to some shred of their childhood.

‘HeART of Gaza’ opens in Conway Mill, 6 – 8pm, Friday 01 August, in the theatre (first floor). Come and bear witness to the most vulnerable and most impacted in this genocide.

On Saturday 02 and Sunday 03 August, project co-founder Féile Butler will facilitate drop-in art workshops (any time between 10 – 11:45am and 2 – 3:45am). Make art to send back to Gaza, letting the children know that we see them and stand with them.

Féile will also talk about the project in more depth at 12 noon and 4pm on both 02 and 03 August. Talk with Q & A will last approximately 45 minutes.
